There’s been interest in having a meeting to talk about how to address racist and other bigoted comments when they come up in the group. Tonight we’ll talk about some common myths, how they make the space less safe, and what we can do within the working agreements to not perpetuate them. We’ll define what expectations we have around respecting each other and how we show that.
Wednesday, November 29th, 7:00pm to 8:30 pm
Center on Halsted, 2nd Floor (Room 202, let the people at the desk on the 2nd floor know you are there for GQC and they will buzz you in)
3656 N. Halsted St.
Genderqueer Chicago is as safe a space as we can make it. To help with this, we have some working agreements that we would like all who come to meetings to keep in mind while within our safe space meetings. Please check out our working agreements here.
Safe space meetings are strictly closed to researchers and reporters in their professional capacities. Meetings are open to anyone else wanting to talk and think about gender! For more info, give us a shout at firstname.lastname@example.org!
